A useful comparison starts with the job you need to finish. Generating captions for a finished clip is different from finding highlights in a long recording or adding a broader set of video edits.
This page states LumaCaption’s capabilities and limits. It does not assume that another product lacks a feature, has poor transcription or charges for every re-render.

A fair side-by-side test
Use the same finished clip in both products. Note how many words you correct, whether the timing needs attention and whether the final text fits the frame. Export a file from each; a preview alone does not test delivery.
Include every feature you depend on beyond captions. If another tool handles an essential part of your production process, replacing it may require a second tool rather than a direct swap.
What LumaCaption includes, and where it stops
All caption styles and watermark-free exports are available on the free plan. Transcription is metered separately: free includes 20 Lite and 5 Ultra minutes monthly, up to 2 minutes per video.
LumaCaption sends extracted audio for online transcription while keeping the video file local. It does not import an existing SRT file, and the captioning workflow is not fully offline.

Can I try Hinglish before paying?
Yes. The free plan includes 5 Candy Ultra minutes per month, with a 2-minute limit per video. Roman-script Hinglish uses that Ultra allowance.
