Your video never uploads

Static subtitles sit at the bottom of the frame and ask to be ignored. Animated captions do the opposite: a word arriving exactly when it is spoken pulls the eye back to the video, which is why the accounts that caption everything animate those captions too. The behaviour matters more than the font — how a word enters, how long it holds, what happens to the word before it.

CaptionCandy ships 95 animated caption styles covering the full range of that behaviour, from a single keyword lighting up mid-line to 21 kinetic typography scenes that take over the entire frame. Every one runs on word-level timing read from your own audio, so nothing lags behind the voice. Your video file is never uploaded, and exports are free and unlimited on every plan — including the free one.

95 animated caption styles

Not five presets with a colour picker. Ninety-five distinct looks across seven lanes, every one available on the free plan from your first video.

Every animation behaviour, covered

Karaoke wipes that colour words as you say them, word-by-word pops, bounce, blur-in, rise-from-below, glide, and full-frame kinetic type when subtitles are not enough.

One word per line does the pulling

The most important word of each line is picked out and animated harder than the rest. Disagree with the pick? Star any word and it takes over.

Changing your mind is free

Minutes are only spent on premium Candy Ultra transcription. Restyling and re-exporting cost nothing, so you can run the same clip through ten animations before you commit.

How it works

01

Add your video

Web, desktop or mobile, nothing to install. Up to 5 minutes per video free, 30 on Creator, 90 on Pro.

02

Find the animation that fits

Every word is written and timed already, so switching styles is instant — the preview replays the same line in each one until something clicks.

03

Export, or take the subtitle file

Burned-in MP4 with the animation baked in, or a plain SRT, VTT or TXT if you need a caption track instead. Both are free on every plan.

Common questions

What is the difference between animated captions and normal subtitles?

Normal subtitles show a whole line at once and swap it for the next one. Animated captions treat each word as its own event — it arrives, it is emphasised, it gives way — which keeps reading pace locked to speaking pace and gives you something to look at between sentences. Subtitle files can only carry the words; animation has to be rendered into the video.

Which animated caption style should I use?

For talking-head clips, word-by-word pops with a single highlighted keyword are the safest high-retention default. For calmer footage, a soft rise or blur-in reads as designed rather than shouty. When the video is mostly a voice and the picture is doing little, the kinetic typography scenes carry the whole frame.

Do animated captions work in Hindi and Hinglish?

Yes — English, Hindi and Hinglish are tuned end-to-end, with 40+ languages otherwise. Word-level timing, keyword highlighting and every one of the 95 styles work the same regardless of the script your transcript is in.

Does exporting animated captions cost more than plain ones?

No. Exports are always free and unlimited on every plan, animated or not. The only thing minutes are spent on is premium Candy Ultra transcription — the free plan includes 5 Ultra minutes plus 30 minutes of Candy Lite each month, and free exports carry a small corner watermark that paid plans remove.
