CaptionCandy is built to be private by design: your videos, audio and transcripts are processed entirely on your device and are never uploaded to our servers.
Account data — when you sign in with Google we store your email, name and a user id (via Supabase, our auth and database provider). Usage data — export minutes used, plan, referral activity, and coupon redemptions, so quotas and billing work. Payment data — payments are processed by Razorpay; we store payment ids, amounts and status. We never see your card or UPI details.
Your media. Videos never leave your device — transcription (Whisper/Vosk) and rendering run in your browser. Speech-model files are downloaded to your browser’s cache, not the other way around.
The app uses browser storage (cache, local storage, OPFS) for model files, in-progress projects and preferences. Clearing site data removes them.
Supabase (authentication, database), Razorpay (payments), Google (sign-in), and content delivery networks that serve the app’s code, fonts and speech models. Each receives only what is technically necessary for its role.
You can request a copy or deletion of your account data at any time — email support@captioncandy.com from your account address and we will action it within 30 days. Deleting your account removes your profile, entitlements, usage ledger and referral records; payment records are retained where tax law requires.
