How it works
Add and transcribe
Add your media and choose its spoken language. Sign in to generate captions; extracted audio is sent for transcription while the video stays on your device.
Review the result
Play the clip and correct names, numbers and any misheard phrases before choosing the final appearance.
Export and check
Download the captioned video, then play the saved file at its intended viewing size. Keep the editable project for later corrections.
A product name spelled incorrectly is distracting in a business video. Start with the transcript: check people, companies, acronyms and numbers before adjusting the design.
For an interview, keep enough room around the speaker’s face and any name graphic. A quiet caption style can support the conversation without competing with a presentation slide.
- Editable wording
- Correct a surname or product term before exporting either video or subtitle files.
- Two delivery choices
- Download SRT for a separate track, or export styled text burned into the picture.
- Calm visual options
- Preview Subtitle, Minimal or a card treatment against your own footage.
- Clear processing boundary
- The video stays on your device. Both Candy Lite and Candy Ultra send extracted audio for cloud transcription; sign-in and an internet connection are required.
Upload an SRT on desktop
LinkedIn’s help documents adding an associated SRT through the desktop posting experience. Prepare the video and matching SRT from the same cut, then attach the captions before publishing.
If you trim the video afterwards, regenerate the subtitle file: its timestamps must match the video you actually upload. Test the published player with captions enabled.
Avoid two competing layers
A burned-in video plus a separate caption track can show duplicate text when the track is enabled. If supplying both, check the overlap. Keep an uncaptioned master for a version that uses only the viewer-controlled track.
Common questions
Will the SRT keep my caption font?
No. LumaCaption exports text and timings in SRT; LinkedIn controls the track’s appearance. Burn the captions into the video to preserve your design.
Can I subtitle a longer talk?
Creator supports up to 30 minutes per video and Pro up to 90. For longer recordings, prepare shorter parts and keep each subtitle file paired with its matching part.
Does this upload the video to LinkedIn?
No. Download the result and publish it yourself through LinkedIn.
